Will Just

Joong Do Kwan Associate Instructor | Sa Bum Nim

Will Just holds a 5th Dan under Grandmaster Les Zampino and is a JDK affiliate Black Belt.

Will Just hosted the Schenectady NY 2024 seminar, and generously volunteered as demo partner.

Will Just has experience in various martial arts and combat sports. He primarily focuses on evolving Taekwondo with the insight gained through the practice and application of Kata.

Will has integrated his art into the world of off-grid living. Will believes that understanding our intention, assessing the self within the present, and mitigating how we use and identify body language, can help us open our senses to the multidimensional landscape of the world. We can then integrate these skills to other aspects of life.

Will believes mental visualization training from the martial arts helps the tactition to deal with duress and stressful situations. Will brings the dojo into the real world by working as a high-angle rescue technician, a wilderness paramedic, wildland firefighter, and has been a leader in disaster relief efforts.

Will holds a 5th Dan under Grandmaster Les Zampino and is a JDK affiliate blackbelt under Master Colin Wee.

Will's Story

Will and Colin, Dallas 2023
I happen to be highly involved with Master Wee’s training methods. Even as such, I had difficulty accessing some of the meaningful skills, tactics, and “feel” that are within the syllabus that Colin presents. It took time and practice to gain enough insight to grow into some of these applications.

To me, that is what makes the JDK Method and the Breaking Through book so amazing. It leads you to become a more proficient tactician. As an instructor, I use this book as a reference point in my syllabus. As I immerse into the 3D environment of the exchange, I find myself overwhelmed with the possibilities.

We need to solve the mental equation with a system. If we use a system we can continue to move forward and focus on the goal. We will look into the kata, decide to use the middle block system, in application 2 presented in the book, and if the initial attempt at solving the problem fails we continue to use different angles and entry points until the problem is solved. What a great tool Colin has given us to bring us back to “center-line” when we are lost.
